I am a married mother of three amazing children; Karley 19 years, Spencer
7
years and Colby 2 1/2 years.
I have no political agenda in becoming a professional doula, as I am genuinely there as a support person for the mother and her family. I am dedicated to making myself useful yet not intrusive and allowing the birth experience to happen as the mother and her partner envisioned. I have attended 6 births as a labour support person prior to my training with CAPPA and 4 since my training (see Client Gallery). Each experience was wonderful and meaningful to me and I wanted to continue in this capacity for more women. I am a calm and thoughtful person who will work hard to ensure your birth experience is as you intended. I hope that if you are considering hiring a doula, that you contact more than one so that you find the right person for your birth plan and your family. I congratulate you in your pregnancy and hope the entire journey is joyous and memorable. Nikki Jomha
"Having Nikki at the birth of my
third child, Fiona, was a true gift. She traveled a long way to be with me
for the last long days of my pregnancy. It was her company, our conversation
and the many long walks in chilly March weather that kept my mind off my
swollen and overdue condition. Nikki is truly in awe of pregnant women,
she genuinely wants to be around them. Her manner is funny and light-hearted,
soothing and supportive. Her presence is welcome anytime, anywhere. Because
she loves what she does, she will make every woman feel the same way. I am
happy for my only daughter that she was welcomed, not only by her parents who
love her, but also by this cherished friend."
Jennifer Brown~- Woolwich, Maine mother to Ethan 1998, Angus 2002 and Fiona 2004.
